Day 1: Tour Begins in Phnom Penh
We will meet at our hotel this evening and head out to enjoy dinner in this wonderful riverside capital.
Day 2: In Phnom Penh
A full day to explore Cambodia's capital city, including the National Museum and the Royal Palace.
Day 3: Phnom Penh - Sen Monorom
We drive to the remote eastern province of Mondulkiri today, arriving in Sen Monorom where we spend the next 2 nights.
Day 4: Around Sen Monorom
Today we will visit the Elephant Valley Project and have the opportunity to learn more about the life of a mahout.
Day 5: Sen Monorom - Kratie
Leaving Sen Monorom this morning, we visit the double-drop waterfall of Bou Sara and enjoy lunch at a coffee plantation. Later we continue on to Kratie for the night.
Day 6: Kratie
Today we take a cycle ride on the Mekong island of Koh Rong, with a chance to meet the locals. This afternoon we'll enjoy a boat trip to spot rare Irrawaddy dolphins before stopping at the hilltop temple of Phnom Sombok to enjoy the sunset over the Mekong.
Day 7: Kratie - Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom
We drive on to Kompong Thom today, via the small riverside town of Kompong Cham. This afternoon we'll explore the impressive pre-Angkorian capital of Isanapura, known today as Sambor Prei Kuk.
Day 8: Kompong Thom - Anlong Vang via Preah Vihear
Today we travel north to remote Tbeng Meanchey and continue to Preah Vihear. We will explore the temple on foot and climb to the final level, clinging to a cliff face in the Dangrek Mountains and offering spectacular views.
Day 9: Anlong Vang - Banteay Chhmar - Battambang
This morning we head west towards the incredible jungle temple of Banteay Chhmar and spend plenty of time exploring the complex. Continuing to Battambang this afternoon, we spend the next 2 nights in this charming colonial town.
Day 10: Around Battambang
We board the bamboo train today, traveling through the Cambodian countryside. We'll also visit the 11th-century temple Wat Ek Phnom. This afternoon we venture up to the hilltop temple of Wat Banan, claimed by some to be the inspiration behind Angkor Wat!
Day 11: Battambang - Siem Reap
We spend the day driving through spectacular countryside to reach our final destination of the trip, Siem Reap, home to the amazing temples of Angkor.
Day 12: Siem Reap
Today we visit some of the most important temples, including Angkor Wat and the immense walled city of Angkor Thom.
Day 13: Around Siem Reap
Heading out to Phnom Kulen today, a mountain plateau once the capital of the Khmer empire, we explore the rock carvings, jungle-clad temples and enjoy spectacular views from the large reclining Buddha. We return to Siem Reap to enjoy our final night.
Days 14: Tour Ends in Siem Reap
The tour ends after breakfast this morning.
